In this 4-week session, students will be introduced to the history of clay and to famous artists, past and present, who work in this medium. Handbuilding techniques like coil, slab, and pinch will be introduced, and students will have an opportunity to throw on the wheel. Clay pieces will be fired in the kiln and then either painted (to take home immediately) or glazed (to be fired and picked up at a later date).
Families are invited to view the constructed clay works on the last day of class.
