Emily Story

Emily Story is a classically trained painter who studied under local artist Anne Kiefaber for two decades. She is also a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Asheville. She grew up in Greensboro and now resides in High Point, a town she deeply loves. Emily works primarily in gouache, but also enjoys acrylics, watercolor, pastels and mixed media. Emily’s pieces combine her realism training with more impressionistic and contemporary elements.

She has worked many years professionally as an animal portrait artist, but is currently focused on teaching art to retired people in their homes. Her philosophy is that art should first and foremost be fun. She believes very strongly in meeting people, all people, where they are.
