Diane Shur

Diane is a graduate of the High School of Music and Art in New York City, and as a young person, had the good fortune to take figure drawing at the renowned Art Students League in New York.

After many years of concentrating on earning a living and working for social change, she returned to making art. She started with pottery and then returned to drawing and painting, taking workshops and classes with a number of Greensboro artists, from Roy Nydorf and Joe Leeds, to Ann Keifaber and Alexis Levine.

She loves working outdoors and has spent many happy hours interpreting the natural world. She also loves making and looking at drawings, enjoying the spontaneity and intimacy that Is so unique to them.

Diane enjoys teaching as well as making art. She has taught adult drawing, as well as teaching clay hand-building at CVA’s summer art camp for children in Greensboro.
