The Art Gallery at Congdon Yards (TAG) is excited to announce the addition of Kathryn Drum as the new Curator of Art and Engagement. A North Carolina native with an impressive art curation and education background, Drum brings over a decade of experience and a unique vision to the organization. Her role will be central to advancing TAG’s mission to make the arts accessible, engaging, and inspiring for the community.
Drum holds a Master’s degree from Christie’s Education in London and a Bachelor’s in Art History from the University of South Carolina. Previously, she was Director of Curation and Senior Art Curator, managing large-scale commission projects for international, commercial and hospitality art consulting firms Indiewalls and Kalisher respectively. Her experience also includes work as a public school art teacher and curatorial administrator at the Ackland Art Museum, Mint Museum, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, reflecting a deep commitment to fostering community engagement through art.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kathryn to TAG,” Jeff Horney, TAG Executive Director, said. “Her experience and commitment to fostering community connections through art align beautifully with our vision for TAG. Kathryn’s expertise will bring fresh energy to our exhibits, creating experiences that resonate and inspire.”
As Curator of Art and Engagement, Drum will lead the conceptualization, planning, and execution of TAG’s exhibition programming, developing a dynamic array of exhibits and artist collaborations. She will also work to deepen TAG’s relationships within the art community and design programs that foster engagement and accessibility.
