Collecting as Self-Portrait: Strategies for Developing a Meaningful and Personal Art Collection

Join TAG Board Member Michael Radziewicz and TAG Curator of Art and Engagement Kathryn Drum for an intimate, member-only conversation focused on making art collecting more accessible and less intimidating.

Designed especially for those curious about collecting—or at the very beginning of their journey—the talk will challenge common myths surrounding “collecting” and gently dismantle the aura of exclusivity often associated with the practice. Rather than emphasizing market trends or expertise, the conversation will center on intuition, curiosity, and the idea of collecting as a deeply personal act of self-expression.

Attendees can expect practical insights, personal anecdotes, and an open discussion about what it truly means to begin collecting art today—how collections evolve over time, how taste is developed, and how art can reflect identity, values, and lived experience.

The talk will take place at The PRB House, a landmark Modernist residence located in High Point’s historic Emerywood neighborhood.

Tickets are $25 per person and available to TAG members only.

Beer, white wine, and light hors d’oeuvres will be served.
