Heather Ellington

Heather is a passionate ceramic artist with over a decade of experience as an art educator in Guilford County Schools. She discovered her love for wheel throwing and crafting functional vessels while studying at UNC Greensboro. Now devoted to her artistic journey and her business, Outer Banks Pottery, Heather specializes in sgraffito, creating intricate designs that seamlessly blend storytelling with functionality. She finds inspiration in the transformative process of turning a formless lump of clay into a unique work of art and enthusiastically shares her craft through wheel-throwing classes and sgraffito workshops with her ceramic students!
