The Art Gallery at Congdon Yards (TAG) is proud to present a fresh exhibition for fall, “Two Sides of the Same Story: Paintings by Annie Blazejack and Geddes Levenson”. Employing a collaborative process from start to finish, Blazejack and Levenson explore storytelling, environment, and the shifting dynamics between humans and nature. Rich in symbolism and layered mythology, these lush, dense oil paintings act as dramatic, nonlinear retellings of familiar stories, human experiences, and our natural world. The artists create paintings that evoke a sense of unease and ominous mystery. This eeriness is expressed alongside whimsy and humor with fluorescent colors and evocative titles. Their characters are alternately exuberantly defiant and on the verge of collapse. The works pose questions that have no clear resolution. Instead, they remain in an almost infinite conversation with themselves and with one another.
