The Art Gallery at Congdon Yards is excited to announce our newest exhibit, Pose / Repose, featuring the artwork of Michael Ananien, Mary Lee Kerr, and Gadisse Lee. This exhibition brings together figurative works that rely on specific and meticulous posing of the human form to convey meaning and energetic nuance. It explores the expressive potential of the physical body through works in a variety of media, including painting, drawing, photography, and sculpture. The exhibit considers the dual meaning of repose by examining each artist’s subtle, repeated manipulation of their figures’ postures, as well as by including a range of reclining forms that highlight how meaning shifts when a figure is recumbent.

Artist Talk & Performance with Michael Ananian
March 26 | 5:30 – 6:30 PM
Greensboro-based painter and musician, Michael Ananian will share insights into the music history that informs the content of his paintings. Michael, with his Banjo, will be joined by his fiddling musical partner and will perform a selection of songs that inspire the artworks in the gallery. Join us for this unique opportunity to experience the impact when visual art and music converge.
