Watercolor Society of North Carolina (WSNC) Exhibition

This juried exhibition will feature 69 watercolor paintings created by WSNC members. The works were selected by judge Lana Privitera, who brings her expertise and artistic vision to this prestigious event.

All of the artwork on display will be available for purchase, providing collectors and art enthusiasts a chance to own original pieces from talented North Carolina artists.

The Watercolor Society of North Carolina, Inc. (WSNC) is a professional, non-profit art organization. Their purpose is to strengthen and promote watercolor throughout the state through workshops taught by nationally recognized artists, juried exhibitions, peer reviews and regional art exhibitions.

The Watercolor Society of North Carolina (WSNC) recently announced the winners of its prestigious 2024 Juried Exhibition. The exhibition is currently on display until Thursday, October 31 at The Art Gallery at Congdon Yards. The exhibition showcases the exceptional talent of watercolor artists from across the state.

Lana Privitera, a renowned juror, carefully selected the award-winning pieces. We extend our warmest congratulations to all the participants and winners.

Highlighting Local Teachers:

A special highlight of this year’s exhibition is the recognition of local art teachers who received grants:

  • Page Gleeson – Southwest Guildford Middle School
  • Cameron Walsh – T. Wingate Andrews High School
  • Jessamyn Bailey – High Point Central High School
  • Jennifer Ballard – High Point Central High School

Jessamyn Bailey was also honored with the Russell Yerkes Teacher’s Scholarship Award, a testament to her dedication and impact on the arts education community.

  • Alexis Lavine for her artwork, “Delivery” (Holbein Merchandise Award I)
  • Danielle Keever for her piece, “‘Round the Campfire” (Holbein Merchandise Award II)
  • Carol Fynn for her artwork, “Copious Koi” (Golden Artist Colors Award)
  • Karen Schaaf for her piece, “Dadcore” (Cheap Joe’s Art Stuff Merchandise Award)

Memorial Awards:

  • Mary Phelps for her artwork, “Flames and Waves Serenade” (Founding Member Kaneko McNeill Memorial Award)
  • Martha Moore for her piece, “Under the Pier” (Betty Mountcastle Memorial Award)
